PSWO Scholarship Program
Philharmonic South West Orchestra is proud to offer a musical scholarship program to enthusiastic new, budding or existing musicians of the South West. This musical scholarship program fosters a fresh and vibrant collaboration with the local community while ensuring the orchestra’s future sustainability.
Based on orchestral vacancies, scholarships are available for a range of instruments across all sections of the orchestra including brass, percussion, wind and strings. As part of the program students receive 16 weeks of complimentary private tuition from a senior musician in a supportive and encouraging environment, with the aim to join the orchestra in their allocated instrument.
While not essential, it is preferred that a student has had some prior experience reading music or playing an instrument (even if it was many years ago)! Scholars are welcome to bring their own instrument or temporarily borrow one from our instrument library. By nurturing emerging talent this program aims to enrich the orchestra by creating a diverse membership of musical skills.
